This market is definitely sinking each day. Sit tight and wait.

Well, just before buying the oil I made 15% on leveraged shorting of Qs... So one really can trade at declining markets, but I'd be afraid to short again now.

Yes, that is good for you. The problem is that every time I bought something, the market tanks. If you short something, then the market is up big against me. To me, it is tough to play right now. Since I can't watch the market minute by minute.

Well, I think you just were unlucky. In no way I'm any kind of adviser, but I think it just happens sometimes. you never know when you guess right or not. And if you're up 10% a year, you are doing very good.
BTW I opened a small position in the oil ETF this Friday, let's see the next week if I lose another 5% (my stop margin) or make something back.

The bears are roaring now. Perhaps only shorts are in play now.

Oil is a great buy right now if you are willing to hold for up to 24 months in my opinion. I think BP is also a major steal.

Personally, I am currently flat and have been since 5/4/10 (two days before the 1k down move). I have transferred some funds to a money market account for the time being while waiting for some better opportunities. I have bumped my monthly contributions up for LendingClub.com as I am supremely confident that I can earn 7-9% there. I have also started dumping just a few dollars into Prosper again on a monthly basis.

Now do you see how hard is to play the market? Especially you if you want to have time constantly watching it. The market looks to be strong this morning, but anything can goes at the end of the day.
