Listing 430850 (HR score 640-660)
Debt consolidation - "Pay Off Outstanding Debts"
www.prosper.com/invest/listing.aspx?listingID=430850

Attention Lenders: I have approved a third and final candidate for the year.

Jess is a young man just getting over some tough times. He used his first Prosper loan to cover up front attorney fees for his custody and divorce trials. He then used additional funds withdrawn early from his 403b to pay off all but $1060 of his remaining attorney bills.

He is currently seeking a loan for $4,000 to pay off the remainder of his attorneys bills, and to pay the taxes due as a result of withdrawing from his 403b. His budget is steady. He is looking to increase his career as an IT Professional currently employed by Georgetown University. He also served in the USAF. He has taken and completed a Novell 6.5 certification and is 1 year away from an undergraduate degree in Organizational Management. He has put the completion of his degree on hold for the moment so he can focus on paying off these debts.

His budget is tight to say the least, but he has made the necessary cuts of elective expenses in order to accomodate paying for this loan. You can see his monthly budget on his member page. In addition to going over his budget, I have verified vis Investar's debt disclosure form that his only current debts are his previous Prosper Loan (~$2600 of $5000 principal borrowed remaining) and a car loan. Outside of this he has no debt. In addition to going over his budget, and performing a debt disclosure, I also reviewed his bills that are currently due, both the attorney payment and what is owed to the IRS. His loan request will cover the amount due and Prosper's origination fees.

I believe he is extremely capable of re-paying his current debts along with an additional Prosper loan. If you have any questions, for him or me, please feel free to ask.

Here is the link to his current listing request. http://www.prosper.com/invest/listing.aspx?listingID=430850

Last Chance. 1 Day 20 hours remain on this listing request. Solid candidate endorsed by VETTED BORROWERS and Investar Lenders. Get it while it's hot.

Congrats to this borrower. Fully funded on the 6th day of bidding and we all got sniped with 15 seconds remaining. IM-SHARKY bought up the loan at the bidding floor with no time remaining. GPuck and one other were smart enough to have earlier bids in at the floor, but like an idiot, and unlike on my previous group loans, I put my base bid in at 20% rather than the bidding floor.

Congrats again to Jessice66 borrower.

Nice IM-SHARKY

You took the whole thing for yourself.  Outbidding a whole slew of people.  That's too funny.  I hope it works at well for you.

That's one problem with Prosper as a part of an investment portfolio. You have lots of options when you have a little money in but if the money invested grows you either have to make lots of loans, which is hard to do and stay above average, or have to make big loans and so take lots of individual risks (and hope they even out). I think plunking down a large chunk of cash on someone who is so well vetted probably looked like a good deal to sharky.

Too bad Maryland is not approved for lenders yet. Otherwise I would get this one too.
