I have a few loans in collections now. I am curious to know does anybody have any loan that was in collection has been paid and become current again?

From what I know it is a very low percentage 5%-ish that repays once in collection. I have one loan out of 75 at 2 months default from a college student. She replied a lot at first, but I remember being in school and how tight money gets so I blame myself.

I no longer invest in students. I'll wait for them to graduate and be gainfully employed.

Lesson learned.

What was the initial credit grade of that college student?  Was it an A or was it an HR?

She was a B grade and was funded at 13.5%

Her lack of credit history was a red flag that I missed as well.
